Porth Eirias Runners completed a very successful take-over at the Llandrillo Yn Rhos parkrun...

It proved to be a spectacular take-over at the Llandrillo yn Rhos parkrun on Saturday by Porth Eirias Runners (PER), with this rapidly expanding local club providing a host of supportive members to help volunteer and marshal at this popular weekly event.
Despite a very gusty wind and some 435 runners to organise, plus a light-hearted challenge and banter with a couple of boats from the Bay of Colwyn Sailing Club, it all went very well, and the event organisers posted their comments on Facebook.
PER Organiser Catrin Williams confirmed: “Parkrun takeover. A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered, took part, or ran at parkrun this morning Y Promenâd parkrun, Llandrillo-yn-Rhos
“We had an amazing turnout of marshals, from first-time volunteers to experienced helpers, taking on a variety of roles. It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, from children right through to adults.
“The enthusiasm, support, and energy shown by everyone this morning were incredible and truly made the event special. A special congratulations to Kevin Edge on reaching the remarkable milestone of 200 volunteer credits – an outstanding achievement!
“Without volunteers, parkrun simply wouldn't happen. I hope today's event has inspired many of you to volunteer again in the future. From me, as this was my final event for the club, I would like to say a heartfelt thank you for all your support. I think it's fair to say we absolutely smashed it!”
And Catrin’s PER colleague Paula Jones added: “What a great turnout at a very windy Rhos on Sea parkrun this morning! Porth Eirias Runners were on volunteer takeover duty this morning and we’re pleased to report that the chaos was kept to a surprisingly low level! (Probably because there was no Prosecco involved!) Chocolate was handed out to the finishers, and then we headed off for a well-earned breakfast at the Rhos Fynach. A brilliant morning enjoyed by everyone.”
Fantastic day was had with my granddaughter finishing speedily and me running with the walkers. Great report on the days events 😘
